Entry Eight - Where Have All The Days Gone?

This title was meant to be more like the song, "Where have all the flowers gone?", but didn't quite work out!  I have given up calling these entries "DAYS" since I don't get here every day.  I'll just call them "Entries" from now on.  Kind of like the Captains log in "Star Trek", only not as cool.  (Wouldn't that be cool to be somewhere in outer space having new adventures every week?)

Since December 5th, I've purged several pairs of shoes and am now feeling very sorry to have given them up.  I shouldn't have been so hasty; I miss them like I miss my dog, Fitz!  I've started a new job, yes; I've joined the working hordes again! Christmas has come and gone, and with that, I've seen several movies, read a book or two and been generally lazy and slow about getting anything done.  Did I mention I'm working again?

I wasn't quite ready for 2009 to be over, there were a lot of things I thought I wanted to have done before 2010, but then again, I'm glad 2009 is past and I can start over with a brand new slate.  One of my favorite quotes is from Anne of Green Gables when Anne Shirley's teacher says something like, "tomorrow is always brand new with no mistakes on it."  My problem is, I'm always looking for tomorrow morning and the feeling when the alarm goes off that I haven't made any mistakes yet, then I slap the snooze button and roll back over and go to sleep, making not only my first mistake of the day, but my second, third, fourth and sometimes fifth! Tomorrow is great to think about, but when it finally gets here, it gets blemished way to fast!

I am excited for 2010 though, I think I will be able to do more this year than I did last in spite of waking up with mistakes written all over the day!  I have been able to get my bi-polar type II disorder stabilized and managed, I have left (albeit not by my own choice) employment (and a boss) that (who) was weighing me down and not helping me to be the best person I can be, I made the gut/heart wrenching decision to place my dog in a new home, and I have my spending habits very nearly under control.  I think all of these things combined will help me to make 2010 a better year than some I've had in the past.

I don't really believe in resolutions because I have been less than resolute in the past about keeping them, but I do believe in making some kind of plan for how I want the year to go and what I have to make that plan work, so with that said, I'm going to lay out a few things that I would like to happen in 2010, and then set sail!

I want to get one screenplay completed by 12-31-10, and have a second finished except for final editing and tweaking.

I want to get all my crap that is lying around in open tubs/containers sorted and stored in a meaningful and safe way.

I want a new back door.

I want new windows in the kitchen and living room.

I want a new shower in my downstairs bathroom.

I want to get my yard in some kind of decent shape for landscaping.

I want to have all my credit cards paid off.

I want to have read my scriptures every day, been faithful in my visiting teaching, gone above and beyond in my church calling, been to the Temple once a month, and have knelt in prayer every day.  (Some of these have already slipped, but there's always tomorrow - no mistakes there yet!)

That seems like a lot of stuff to accomplish in a 12 month period, so I better get busy!  The first thing I have to do is make a plan for this to happen, and since I am lousy at planning, that is going to be hard!  Sometimes things just happen for me, but I believe "just happening" is going to take more work than it used to, and by work, I mean "Planning".  Yech.  I don't know why I hate that so much, but I kind of do!

If anyone out there has any suggestions how to make this happen, I love to hear them!
